Rosamund has worked internationally as an instructional designer and glossary-writer, Senior Lecturer and Field Chair in English for Academic Purposes. She has been a Professional Development writer and consultant for Tutors in the Tertiary Education sector, and a national Language, Literacy and Numeracy Adviser for employers and employees engaged in workplace training and learning.

Completing her undergraduate studies in French, Italian & German at Oxford Brookes University, followed by a Master's Degree in Applied Linguistics & Phonetics, Ros has made full use of her knowledge of Linguistics and Phonology during her career. Professional qualifications include Membership of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in French and Membership of the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters.

Ros’s research interests encompass translation theory and barriers to intelligibility, based partly on her translation work. She has several published books and plays from French to her credit, along with post-translation editing of journals and books published in the USA, Belgium, the UK and Italy.

Current and past projects include Academic Literacy development and teaching for the University of Oxford, glossary-writing, translation of the communication materials from the Musée de la Faïence in Quimper and on-going membership of the editorial board of the Quimper Journal, where she translates, proofreads and writes book reviews for an American and French-speaking audience.
